Fordite, also known as Detroit agate, is a colorful material made from layers of hardened automotive paint. It formed in car factories where excess paint overspray built up on surfaces and was repeatedly baked during the curing process. Over time, these layers created vibrant, durable slabs with swirling patterns of various colors. Though not a natural gemstone, Fordite is highly prized for crafting unique jewelry and art.
The blade steel type is a high alloy stainless Damascuz Steel. Since this is a solid high quality steel type there is no need for harder core steel. Core steel is required in most industrially manufactured Damascus blades. Instead, the blade is precision CNC full flat ground from a solid bar of beautiful high alloy Damascus steel. The two steel types that make up the Small Rose Pattern of the blade are 440C and N690 high alloy.
